This year’s Waterford Harvest Festival, an annual culinary celebration, will plate up dishes and treats to suit every palate!

Waterford Harvest Festival puts a spotlight on Waterford’s delicious dining scene and homegrown eateries, from bespoke menus to intimate cooking showcases to local producer collaborations and foodcations in Ireland’s oldest city.

Stocking over 290 Irish Whiskies! Including 22 Releases of Waterford Distillery – there is not much in Irish Whiskey that they do not stock.

Be Careful on ordering the Midleton Pearl at an eye-watering €1,500 a measure! But for festival goers, most tasting trays are from €20!

Presenter and GIY Founder Mick Kelly and GIY’s Head of Food JB Dubois take you on a magical journey from our plot to your plate with just 16 guests in total.

Start with a welcome garden cocktail and a seasonal HQ starter while you meet your fellow diners on the sunny (we hope!) terrace, before joining Mick for a potted history of GIY and an interactive tour of HQ’s organic food gardens. The tour will take in the fruit garden, TV garden, container corner, herb garden, kitchen garden and the main veg patch, all the while getting lots of expert advice and top tips while you stroll. After a quick masterclass on seed sowing, you will sow some seeds to take home before heading up to the main veg patch to harvest veg, herbs and edible flowers as key ingredients for your dinner.

Next up, join JB at the wood fired pizza oven on our terrace, as he takes you through an interactive cookery demo. Find out more about HQ’s award-winning hyper seasonal, zero-waste approach – how we harvest garlic ‘green’ to make the most of the crop and make way for more sowings; or making ‘poor man’s capers’ from the seeds of nasturtium flowers.

During the demo (while sipping a glass of organic wine) you will be rolling your own pizza dough, adding a delicious HQ tomato sauce (or JB’s favourite white sauce for Pizza Bianco) and prepping your freshly harvested toppings.
